The new movie ‘Soroptimist Action: Improving Our Environment’ is now available, showcasing inspiring clips from all five SI Federations and a wide variety of countries across the globe. This powerful compilation movie highlights the many ways Soroptimists are taking action to protect and restore our planet. From recycling and waste management to nurturing biodiversity, advancing clean energy, safeguarding water health and tackling plastic pollution, the movie demonstrates how Soroptimists are addressing climate challenges with creativity and determination.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all the SI Federations, Regions, Unions, and Clubs for sending in clips and supporting this project, spearheaded by SI President Siew Yong Gnanalingam. It is wonderful to see Soroptimists not only leading projects in their own communities but also spreading their impact so that more Clubs and even other countries join in.
Many projects are carried out in partnership with local authorities, charities, organisations and businesses, showing the strength of collaboration in driving lasting change. Particularly inspiring are the initiatives in schools, where Soroptimists work directly with children to share knowledge about addressing climate change and protecting the environment. By educating young people, they are helping to build a more sustainable and hopeful future.
The film also reflects the deep values at the heart of Soroptimist International. Some Clubs are planting trees to honour deceased Members, beautifully linking remembrance of the past with the protection of our shared environment. Through these meaningful actions, Soroptimists demonstrate how caring for the planet is both a practical responsibility and a profound legacy for generations to come.
