The first project of the SI President’s Appeal ‘Opening Doors to a Bright Future’ launched in Cambodia in early 2022, in Soroptimist International of South East Asia Pacific Federation. The project is entitled, ‘Education and Learning in Cambodia throughout the life course’ and works in partnership with the Cambodian Community Dream Organization (CCDO). Over the year that it has been running, the Appeal project has been delivered to women and girls across three districts in Cambodia: Prasat Bakong, Angkor Thom, and Banteay Srei.
This partnership has seen many great achievements, both meeting and exceeding the initial project targets, having originally agreed in early 2022 that the CCDO would aim to involve 2000 women and girls in the project activities, 12 months later and 2814 women and girls had been engaged in the programme so far.
