Owing to the cancellation of the Commission on the Status of Women earlier this year, the Secretary-General’s annual consultation with women’s civil society was postponed. However, on 31 August 2020, a virtual Townhall Meeting was held between UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, and a virtual audience of women's civil society actors, with UN Women Executive Director, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka as the moderator.
