SI Voices Webinar – Women: Conflict, Peace & Security

On 28 April Soroptimist International will host a virtual event with Stephenie Foster, Author of Take Action: Fighting for Women & Girls, a guide that covers the basics of activism and advocacy, offering big and small actions we can all take to shift social norms, change policies and practices, and empower people to fight for the rights and progress of women.

Author and Activist Stephenie Foster

Having spent her entire career fighting for the rights of women and girls, Stephenie will share her expertise on the topic of Women: Conflict, Peace & Security, and will be interviewed by SI Director of Advocacy Leigh Ellwood Brown, and SI Advocacy Advisor, Beverly Bucur. Stephenie will draw on her extensive experience in women’s economic and political empowerment, which includes empowering women in Afghan war zones, monitoring elections in Ukraine, and representing the U.S. State Department in meetings with government and civil society leaders, as well as serving as a Chief of Staff to two U.S. senators. Having travelled, lived, or worked in over 100 countries, she has consistently used her voice and actions to change discriminatory laws and policies and help shift cultural norms and inequalities. Stephenie is a founding partner of Smash Strategies, which provides strategic advice to corporations, institutions, and philanthropists to ensure that their investments in women and girls are effective and transformational.
