Soroptimist International will be represented across three major UN spaces in Geneva this July: the World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2026 (WSIS), the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, and the AI for Good Global Summit 2026.
Across these meetings, SI Representatives, members and nominated experts will contribute to discussions on artificial intelligence, digital safety, gender equality and women’s leadership in technology.
SI’s involvement reflects our commitment to ensuring that women and girls are recognised not only as users of digital technologies, but as leaders, experts and decision-makers shaping safe and equitable digital futures.
WSIS Forum 2026 and Global Dialogue on AI Governance
The WSIS Forum 2026 will take place from 6 to 10 July 2026 in Geneva. During the Forum, Soroptimist International will contribute to discussions on digital inclusion, AI governance, digital trust and gender-responsive approaches to technology.
SI will also participate in the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, including the side event “Trust That Travels: Safe, Secure and Interoperable AI”, where Dr Alice Paola Pome will moderate and Tania Gómez Herazo, SI Advocacy AI Advisor, will participate as a panellist.
Soroptimist International has also co-sponsored the session “The Uncanny Valley of Equality: A Feminist Lens on Trustworthy AI”, organised by Business and Professional Women during the Global Dialogue on AI Governance.
On 6 July, SI will contribute to the session “All Women and Girls are Architects of a Safe Digital Future”, co-organised by the International Telecommunication Union, the EU Mission to the UN in Geneva, the Mission of Austria to the UN in Geneva, ISACA, Devoteam, Becton Dickinson and Politecnico di Milano, with further partners to be confirmed.
In addition, Soroptimist International has submitted 19 expert profiles to WSIS for the Women & Girls Gender Trendsetters 2026 initiative, helping to highlight women’s expertise and leadership across technology, policy, development, governance and digital rights.
AI for Good Global Summit 2026
Soroptimist International will also be represented at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026, taking place from 7 to 10 July.
As part of the Summit, SI-nominated experts will contribute to the Startup Accelerator Programme 2026, delivering workshops across three days. These sessions will draw on the knowledge and experience of women leaders working across AI, innovation, policy, entrepreneurship and digital transformation.
On 8 July, Soroptimist International will contribute to the Women in AI Roundtable: Women in AI Leadership, Innovation and Growth. The roundtable will bring participants together across thematic discussions on education and skills, strategic leadership, economic empowerment, gender-responsive innovation, AI ethics, digital safety, technology policy and the future of work.
Each thematic table will be led by a subject-matter expert and co-facilitated by an SI member, with discussions designed to generate practical, action-oriented outcomes.
SI representatives are also expected to participate in further high-level opportunities during the Summit, including discussions connected to women’s leadership in ICT, digital governance and the role of women and girls in shaping safe and inclusive digital futures.
Women and Girls as Leaders in Digital Transformation
Across the WSIS Forum, the Global Dialogue on AI Governance and the AI for Good Global Summit, Soroptimist International will continue to advocate for digital spaces, technologies and governance systems that are inclusive, safe and responsive to the needs and rights of women and girls.
As artificial intelligence and digital technologies increasingly shape education, economies, public services and civic participation, women and girls must be meaningfully included in decision-making at every level. This includes recognising their expertise, supporting their leadership, addressing digital harms, and ensuring that innovation advances equality rather than deepening existing inequalities.
