Soroptimist International Convention 2027 – Website Launch!

by | 27 May 2026 | News

The countdown to Prague has begun! Soroptimist International is pleased to launch the official website for the 2027 Convention – the first step in bringing together members and guests from across our global community for what promises to be an inspiring three days of shared learning, connection and action.

The Convention will take place from 29 September to 01 October 2027 at the Prague Congress Centre. Soroptimists are now invited to explore the new website and pre-register their interest in attending this global gathering.

The website introduces the Convention themes, outlines how Soroptimists from each Federation will contribute to the programme and shares the first details about what participants can expect when the global Soroptimist community meets in Prague.

A global gathering in Prague

The Soroptimist International Convention takes place every four years, bringing together members from across the organisation’s five Federations. The Convention provides a space to be inspired by keynote speakers, share best practice projects, exchange experience and strengthen cooperation across the global network.

In 2027, Soroptimists from around the world will gather in Prague, one of Europe’s historic cultural centres. The Convention will be hosted at the Prague Congress Centre, overlooking the city and within easy reach of Prague’s historic centre.

The city is known for its historic bridges, which connect communities across the Vltava River. The Convention adopts this idea of connection, bringing together perspectives, experience and ideas from Soroptimists working in different countries and regions.

Over 1,000 Soroptimists are expected to take part in the Convention, reflecting the global membership of the organisation.

Convention theme

The Convention will focus on the theme:

Building Bridges for the Health, Rights and Resilience of All Women and Girls

Across the world, the lives of women and girls are shaped by many connected factors. Safety, education, economic opportunity, environmental conditions and digital realities all influence whether women and girls can live healthy and independent lives.

Soroptimists address these issues every day through projects, advocacy and partnerships in their communities. The Convention will provide an opportunity to share this work and explore how Soroptimists can strengthen their collective response to the challenges women and girls face in different parts of the world.

Three themes shaping the programme

The Convention programme will explore three connected themes that reflect the realities women and girls experience today and the conditions needed for them to thrive in the future.

Women’s and Girls’ Health and Wellbeing

Health includes physical, mental and emotional wellbeing throughout the life course. Sessions will explore access to health services, mental wellbeing, gender bias in medical research, ageing, caregiving and the relationship between environmental conditions and health.

Women’s and Girls’ Rights and Safety

Safety, dignity and legal protection form the basis for wellbeing and opportunity. Discussions will address violence against women, legal rights, trafficking, conflict situations and digital safety, recognising the many ways these issues affect the lives of women and girls.

Resilience for the Future

Resilience grows through education, economic opportunity and access to innovation. Sessions will explore how women and girls can respond to the challenges of climate change, environmental pressures and rapid technological change.

Together, these themes reflect Soroptimist International’s mission to educate, empower and enable women and girls worldwide.

A platform for global collaboration

The Convention will also highlight the work of Soroptimists across the organisation’s five regional Federations. Each Federation works in different social, cultural and economic contexts while contributing to the shared goal of improving the lives of all women and girls.

Through presentations, discussions and shared learning, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, showcase projects and develop new partnerships that strengthen Soroptimist action at both local and global levels.
