SI is delighted to announce that Soroptimist International has been selected to deliver an oral statement at this year's ECOSOC High Level Segment. The theme this year is “Implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to education”. As far as we are aware,  this is the first time SI has been selected to deliver an oral statement so this is a great achievement.

The High-level Segment, to be held at the United Nations Office in Geneva from 4 to 8 July 2011, will focus on a broad range of issues relevant to the implementation of the UN development agenda. The Annual Ministerial Review (AMR) is part of the High Level Segment and the thematic review takes place during this session. SI will participate as a civil society organisation.  The outcome of the session will be a Ministerial Declaration on "Implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to education".

Our SI UN Representative in Geneva, Sina Stiffler, will represent SI and will be reporting back in a few weeks!
