UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)
Vienna
UNODC is a global leader in the fight against illicit drugs and international crime. Of note, UNODC is the only UN agency focussing on human trafficking and the implementation of the United Nations Convention on Transnational Organized Crime and its protocols on trafficking in persons and migrant smuggling. UNODC also assists member states in improving criminal justice systems, an issue emerging as an area of particular concern for women.
Soroptimist International is deeply engaged in global efforts to combat human trafficking and works closely with UNODC on prevention, protection, and prosecution – the three pillars of ending human trafficking worldwide.
SI UN Representatives regularly attend the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and the Commission on Narcotic Drugs. You can read the lastest reports from these important commissions below.
If you are interested in reading any reports from before 2009, please email SIHQ: hq@soroptimistinternational.org.
