Department of Public Information/Non-Governmental Organisations (DPI/NGO)
New York
The DPI/NGO Section acts as its liaison between the United Nations and NGOs and other civil society organizations. It oversees partnerships with associated NGOs and provides a wide range of information services to them. These include weekly NGO briefings, communication workshops, an annual NGO conference and an annual orientation programme for newly associated NGOs.
Soroptimist International is associated with DPI and takes an active role in the annual conference. SI has run workshops and participated as panellists at the conference for many years. The 2011conference took place in Bonn, Germany, from September 3rd - 5th. Click here to visit the website, and visit the links below to read all the news from the main sessions.
