Working for Women, Solomon Islands 1998
This project helped to build a Women’s Centre in Honiara in the Solomon Islands. At this multi-purpose centre everything from advice on women's issues to how to start a small business can be found. There are also technology workshops, a handicraft centre, a snack bar, a trade store, and much more, including community radio for education and sharing information on a wide range of topics to improve the lives of women and girls. The centre is a lifeline to the scattered island women, many with little or no formal education.
