Hopes and dreams for everyone 2009
120 children from boarding schools received life-skill education training, 30 graduates assisted in continuing their education, 20 victim/survivors of trafficking, domestic violence or vulnerable persons in at-risk situations received personalised reintegration assistance.
This project is in partnership with the IOM and CRIC (Moldova)
The Need:
- 29.5% of the population live below the poverty line.
- Moldova is a major source and, to a lesser extent, a transit country for trafficked women and girls
- Young girls living in boarding schools are particularly exposed to the dangers of trafficking
Activities:
- Developing the capacity of graduates from four boarding schools
- 30 teenagers (girls and boys), who are graduates of boarding schools will receive support in continuing their education, in either vocational schools, high schools or colleges.
- 20 persons (victims of trafficking or vulnerable persons in at-risk situation including victims of domestic violence) will receive individualised reintegration assistance that will be granted in accordance with reintegration plans
